Before playing Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday, Newcastle United appears to have had a well-earned day off yesterday.

After defeating Crystal Palace 4-0 on Saturday in the Premier League, the Magpies have now gone eight games without a loss.

But United’s run of form wasn’t the only thing on people’s minds. Sandro Tonali was introduced in the 69th minute against Palace, the footballers first appearance since allegations of illegal betting were made public. The details are not yet known, however it’s believed the Italian is facing a significant ban from football.

Yet the midfielder was met with an outpouring of love from his teammates and Newcastle United supporters on Saturday and was seen to be emotional as he led the lap of honour around St James’ Park.

Newcastle United looks like they earned a day off yesterday before taking on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Magpies won their match against Crystal Palace 4-0 on Saturday, making it eight games without a loss.

Some supporters find the sighting unbelievable; one sent the shocking photo to Twitter along with the comment, “Just amazing.” Tonali appears like a typical heart of gold lad: Sunday at Adventure Valley. I’m not sure what to think of him.
