Leicester City have granted permission for goalkeeper Daniel Iversen to undergo a medical at Stoke City on Friday morning, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that the 26-year-old has agreed to the terms of a loan move that will see him move to the Potters for the remainder of the season.

The Dane has not made a single appearance this season for the Foxes and has only made the bench once across 26 Championship games.

Iversen is no stranger to loan moves, having been shipped out five times during his time at the King Power Stadium.

He most recently spent the season at Preston North End in the 2021-22 campaign where he started in all their games in the Championship.

The shot-stopper gained Premier League experience in Leicester’s final stretch of games last season when he replaced Danny Ward in the starting line-up.

Stoke’s first-choice shot-stopper for the season was Mark Travers, who was loaned in from Premier League side Bournemouth.

However, after he made 14 appearances at the bet365 Stadium, he was recalled by the Cherries after their top-choice goalkeeper Neto sustained a hamstring injury.

Leicester City sit at the top of the Championship table after their 4-1 victory over Huddersfield Town on New Year’s Day.

They next face Millwall away on Saturday afternoon (6 January) in the FA Cup.

Stoke sit 19th in the table after their 0-0 draw against Ipswich Town and next welcome Brighton in the FA Cup.
