Latest Leicester City news as James Maddison talks about one of his former Foxes teammates following the FA Cup win over Millwall

Former Leicester City midfielder James Maddison has paid tribute to the talents of Marc Albrighton after today’s FA Cup win over Millwall.

Albrighton recorded an assist with a trademark cross, and that caught the eye of his former teammate Maddison. The duo played together at Leicester for five years, before Maddison joined Tottenham for £40 million last summer.

In the game against Millwall, midfielder Cesare Casadei opened the scoring in the 16th minute, nodding the ball home from an Albrighton cross. It was just the winger’s 12th appearance in all competitions this season, but he has made his mark in his own signature way.

Maddison posted a clip of the Casadei goal onto his Instagram story, and wrote: “Marc Albrighton putting things on a plate for people. Some things will never change,” with a red heart and thumbs-up emoji.

Former City man Maddison has scored three goals and assisted another five in 11 Premier League appearances this season. He is currently out with an injury. On Friday night, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou said: “[Maddison] is not training with us yet. As I’ve said before, until they train with us it’s hard for me to put a timeline on it.

“He’s running with a sports science crew but not with us. He’s not likely to be with us for the next couple of weeks.”
