Gary O’Neil Say, Wolves now have just a couple of weeks to get new players, could this be True?

The transfer window closes for English clubs on August 30, meaning Gary O’Neil and sporting director Matt Hobbs don’t have a great deal of time left to strengthen.

The season has now started, and the feeling for many is that Wolves still need a couple of new faces.

The club started the summer positively, signing Rodrigo Gomes, Pedro Lima and Jorgen Strand Larsen. But it has been all quiet for weeks, and Max Kilman and Pedro Neto have both left.

Things are going on behind the scenes though, and fans are hopeful O’Neil and Hobbs will pull something out of the bag.

And a claim has been made today that Wolves have now made an approach for an England international.

Wolves make move for Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale

It has been reported by netsport that Wolves have now made an enquiry over the availability of Aaron Ramsdale, who is now the number two at the Emirates Stadium.

Ramsdale lost his place as the number one last season following the signing of David Raya.

He is too good to sit on the Arsenal bench, and it seems Wolves are ready to try and sign the England international.

It is stated that O’Neil is a big admirer of Ramsdale, who earns around £120,000 per week at Arsenal.

The interesting part of this claim is that Wolves are thought to be looking to sign Ramsdale on loan.

Wolves have sounded out Ramsdale as a potential replacement for Jose Sa, after it was reported earlier this summer that Jorge Mendes has been looking at potential new clubs for the Molineux number one.

Earlier this summer, it was reported that Arsenal attempted to sign Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley. Wolves’ links to Ramsdale will now have some wondering if some kind of exchange could happen.

Ramsdale to Wolves on loan would be a surprise

It’s difficult to see Arsenal being open to letting Ramsdale leave on loan, as that doesn’t really do much for them.

Surely, they would prefer to sell him. Or if they are to sanction a loan, then they would want some kind of commitment from a club to buy him next summer, and probably his wages covering.

If there is any truth in this claim that Wolves have made an approach for Ramsdale, then that again suggests that Sa could well be on his way.

Because Ramsdale would obviously not join Wolves unless he was coming to be the new number one.

We will see what transpires with this. But he’s someone the club have been linked with a few times over the past couple of years now and if Sa does depart, he might just fancy a move to Molineux.
