Four Lads cannot believe what SFA have done to Rangers

Four Lads have reacted as SFA have announced their decision on Rangers midfielder Dujon Sterling on Thursday, 8 February.

They decided to uphold the ban despite Gers appealing the red card he received in the 2-1 win over Aberdeen on Tuesday, 6 February.

The 24-year-old was sent off by Don Robertson after catching Jack Mackenzie for a tackle that was deemed to be “serious foul play”.

Four Lads wrote on Twitter: “Dujon Sterling loses his Red card appeal. Decision upheld. Remarkable really, such a poor conspiracy this.”

Rangers hard done by Sterling verdict

Clear evidence suggesting the red was unwarranted highlights the need for greater consistency and transparency in officiating.

The incident involving Sterling, where he was sent off for a challenge deemed “serious foul play,” was contentious, with many observers, including pundits and fans, questioning the severity of the offence.

Inconsistencies also arise in penalty decisions, as highlighted by the debate over potential handballs by Rangers players during the same match.

Such discrepancies undermine the integrity of the game and erode trust in officiating bodies like the SFA.

While refereeing decisions can be subjective, there must be clearer guidelines and better utilisation of technology, such as VAR, to ensure fairness and accuracy.

The failure to rectify obvious errors like Sterling’s red card only fuels frustration and undermines the credibility of Scottish football’s governing bodies.

It comes as no surprise that fans of all clubs are constantly fuming over officiating decisions.
