Ex Leicester men and players on the move and in action as Lewis Brunt and Wrexham drew vs. Enzo’s Chelsea

Chelsea FC v Wrexham - Pre-Season Friendly

Ex Leicester players were involved in the pre-season friendly between Wrexham and Chelsea. This was the first test for Enzo Maresca and his transition, and watching the game, you could see it all being a carbon copy of what he was doing at Leicester. Wrexham came to the game with five men in the back, having new signing from Leicester, Lewis Brunt, in there from start.

As we have seen in the past, having a special set-up against Enzo and his “ball”, you can get a result, just as Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson got, having a 2-1 lead at one time and almost scoring a third, but Chelsea managed to equalize as the game ended 2-2. Ben Chilwell and Wesley Fofana both had minutes, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, in the travelling party, was not involved. Chelsea had 75% possession and then to just get a draw, looks a similar scenario Leicester had last season, but still ending as champions, so this can of course end absolutely perfect.

Brendan Rodgers must be pleased with the work done from Kasper Schmeichel as he played the first 45 minutes in the friendly vs. Man City. Oscar Bobb put a ball in the net behind Schmeichel in 33rd minute, but they were 3-1 up, so probably a satisfied former Leicester goalkeeper. In the end a great win for Celtic, managing to hold out and bring home a 3-2 result.

A new adventure is on for former Leicester attacking option, Josh Eppiah. The Belgian forward with a past at Northampton and OH Leuven, will next season play for Amazaons FC in Brazil. Injuries and probably being played a bit out of position in previous clubs might have stopped his progress slightly, but hopefully he will find himself in the correct environment at the 2nd tier Brazilian club.

Forest have their pre-season campaign well under way, as former Leicester forward Chris Wood is enjoying his life at the moment. He scored one of the goals in the first pre-season 3-0 win vs. Chesterfield. He scored one of the goals in their latest pre-season outing vs. Millwall, winning 2-1.

Paul Appiah is currently on trial at Wimbledon, being involved in their pre-season friendly vs. Brentford, having a difficult day at the office, of course a major tier gap, and hopefully the player, being released by Leicester in the summer will find a new approach in the game going forward.
