On Saturday, Leeds United left the house to play Norwich City. The Whites fell behind by two goals in a thrilling game, but they pulled off a spectacular comeback in the second half to win the three points.

In the match played before the international break, Daniel Farke started an identical starting lineup from the team that defeated Bristol City at Elland Road.

After making his first trip back to Carrow Road as Leeds manager, Farke watched as his team fell down after just four minutes when Shane Duffy headed home Gabriel Sara’s near-post corner to open the score.

Leeds played effectively after falling behind, taking the initiative and generating opportunities. Dan James and Crysencio Summerville both made shots, but neither was able to hit the mark.

Next to go close was Georginio Rutter who forced a good save, before Glen Kamara dragged an effort just past the post when in the box, and moments later Joel Piroe shot narrowly wide from just outside the area.

Angus Gunn had seen his goal pelted with chances but hadn’t been troubled too much. However, the goalkeeper picked up an injury and was replaced by George Long between the posts, with just over 30 minutes played.

Approaching the interval, the Canaries showed a clinical nature and took their chance at the other end, to double the lead going into the break.

Gabriel Sara had looked lively throughout the half and did well to collect the ball in the box, twist, turn then smash beyond Illan Meslier into the back of the net to extend the advantage when the teams went into their dressing rooms.

Farke would be hoping that his team could find a way back into the game and convert the several opportunities they had created into goals as they took the field for the second half of the contest at Carrow Road. When they emerged from the tunnel, neither side had changed.

The Whites did had the early advantage, with Summerville appearing to be in high spirits. The winger moved into the area and got space to fire, but Ben Gibson expertly blocked his attempt.

Leeds eventually found the net in the contest, just after the hour had passed! James was sent in by Georginio down the wing; after dodging a challenge, he fired in a low cross that was converted into his own goal by Duffy, Norwich’s first-half scorer.

The sheer domination of chances and possession from Leeds saw more efforts on goal. Ethan Ampadu had an strike turned just wide, before James went even closer when his shot was turned onto the post by Long.

From the following corner though, the Whites finally and deservedly equalised. Summerville had been a threat all game and his superb curling effort found the net, off the inside of the post to make it two-apiece.

The hosts responded by making a triple change, bringing on former Leeds midfielder Adam Forshaw, along with Christian Fassnacht and Ui Jo Huang.

Into the final five minutes, the Whites completed the turnaround and went into the lead, creating pandemonium in the away end.

Summerville was given space by Rutter, and after beating everyone in his path and running from his own half, the winger produced another incredible finish into the far corner to give Leeds the lead!

There was still work to be done because eight minutes of stoppage time appeared when the clock approached the ninety-minute mark. Luke Ayling and Liam Cooper came off the bench.

By controlling the last few minutes, Farke’s team was able to secure a huge and incredibly impressive three points away from home.
