Tottenham Hotspur could end up missing out on defender Radu Dragusin this month despite being in talks for a number of days.
Dragusin is the main name being mentioned when it comes to Tottenham making a new signing this month.
Indeed, it’s been reported that Ange Postecoglou is personally pushing to get Dragusin to Tottenham, while reports in the last few days have suggested a deal is close.
However, Tottenham could actually miss out on Dragusin, with reports now suggesting that Napoli are pushing with a fresh bid.
Napoli pushing to beat Tottenham to Radu Dragusin
According to Di Marzio, Napoli have submitted a fresh bid for Dragusin as they look to convince Genoa to do business with them instead.
It’s claimed the Naples club are willing to include players in a deal to sign Dragusin. And at the moment, that is something that Genoa have an interest in.
It’s claimed Genoa are trying to conclude a deal for Dragusin that will be worth around £31m to them overall.
So far, Tottenham have only gone to around the £25m mark and that has been a sticking point.
It’s suggested Genoa are waiting to see if Napoli off them defender Alessandro Zanoli as part of the deal. If they do, then the two Italian clubs may just have a deal.
Tottenham have to get a move on
If Spurs were to miss out on Dragusin now after so much talk of them getting the deal done then it would be a massive blow for the club.
Ange Postecoglou obviously wants a new defender and he’s obviously made it clear he sees Dragusin as a player who can help his team right now.
Missing out to Napoli would be an issue and would put the jitters among Spurs fans for the rest of the window.
Daniel Levy and co need to get a shift on really. They simply have to get deals done and back the manager or risk wasting a huge chance this season.
Dragusin is open to the move to Tottenham. It’s time, then, for the North Londoners to simply push the button and get the details sorted.
