The international break has come at just the wrong time for Tottenham. Spurs have enjoyed a fantastic start to the new Premier League season, ending August in second place with three wins and a draw.

Tottenham kicked off the campaign with a four-goal thriller against Brentford before storming past Manchester United in Ange Postecoglou’s first competitive clash on home turf. The Lilywhites then continued their rich vein of form at the Vitality Stadium before running riot against Burnley.

Just as Spurs were beginning to build some momentum, they must now wait two weeks before they look to pick up from where they left off. So, with that being said, netsport.uk, has taken a look at Tottenham’s fixtures after the international break and how they compare to their rivals…

Sheffield United put up a valiant effort against Manchester City towards the end of August, but they struggled to secure three points against relegation rivals Everton the following week. While the newly-promoted side have shown signs of promise at Bramall Lane, they must face Tottenham in north London – and Son Heung-min will be desperate to add to his tally…

The north London derby. If Spurs can hit the ground running against the Blades then they’ll have plenty of confidence going into the blockbuster clash – confidence which a Tottenham side may not have had for a few years.

Another difficult fixture in the calendar. If the Lilywhites can take a promising result from the Emirates Stadium then Postecoglou’s side will certainly be fired up. However, Liverpool are no pushovers and Jurgen Klopp will be eager to assert his dominance on the high-flying north Londoners.

Luton Town (A) – Saturday, October 7

Tottenham will be desperate to go into the next international break off the back of a win. A trip to Kenilworth Road is not for the faint-hearted so Spurs will have their work cut out after two huge games.

Fulham (H) – Monday, October 23

The first game back after the October international break will be on home turf. Regardless of Spurs’ recent results, Postecoglou has been given the perfect chance to remind supporters of the exciting project he’s building in north London.
