Spurs’ injury woes may have an impact on their standing in the league. The Lilywhites suffered back-to-back losses to Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers, but if they can find replacements for their injured players during the January transfer window, they still have a chance to make the Champions League this season.

According to the report, Tottenham have earmarked Juventus’ winger Iling-Junior – who joined The Bianconeri from London rivals Chelsea in 2020 – as a potential target this winter.

Iling-Junior predominantly plays on the wing and could also play in any position across the front line and attacking midfield. His versatility would provide Spurs coach, Ange Postecoglu, not just depth but several tactical options.

The England u21 star is highly rated at Juventus and has a contract until 2025. Tottenham believe a transfer can be worked out as the Italian side have a good business relationship with them.

Squad depth – missing puzzle?

Ange Postecoglou enjoyed a high-flying start to life at Tottenham but their recent results have seen a shift in fortunes after losing 4-1 to Chelsea with 9 players and suffering a comeback loss to Wolves last weekend.

Their lack of depth has been made clear by the injuries and bans of important players like Christian Romero, Micky Van De Ven, James Madison, and Destiny Udogie, forcing Postecoglou’s team to look for reinforcements in the trade market.

While the Spurs are mostly interested in adding players to their defense, attack is another area that requires strengthening.

Iling-Junior, one of the most talented young players in Europe, is a highly promising possibility for Spurs. Transfermarkt values him at approximately £8 million.

The 20-year-old earned 12 appearances in Juventus’ first team during the previous season and has already made four this year in Serie A.

His quickness, style, and adaptability will spice up Postecoglou’s team as they try to regain their form and momentum in order to qualify for the Champions League the following year.
