Spurs Boss Speech How ‘He’ suffered a frustrating 3-2 loss
Here’s how we rated the Spurs players following the defeat to Arsenal in this afternoon’s Premier League clash against Arsenal.
Ange Postecoglou’s side suffered a frustrating 3-2 loss at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to their bitter rivals.
Guglielmo Vicario: Needs to take command of his box better with set pieces still a huge problem. 5.
Pedro Porro: Was unable to make any sort of contribution in the first half, saw more of the ball in the second but was unable to make it count. 4.
Cristian Romero: Had three really good opportunities on goal with his head, one of which hit the post. Finished well from Raya’s mistake to get Spurs on the scoresheet. 7.
Micky van de Ven: Thought he had scored in the first half only for VAR to harshly rule it offside. 6.
Ben Davies: Gave Saka way too much space for Arsenal’s second goal, the gulf between him and Udogie is huge. Fouled for the penalty. Booked on 80 mins. 4.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: His own goal from a set piece was poor, replaced in the second half by Bissouma. 4.
James Maddison: Still looks a shadow of the player prior to his ankle injury, replaced on 63 minutes by Richarlison. 3.
Timo Werner: Forced off with a hamstring injury after 30 mins. 5.
Dejan Kulusevski: Saw plenty of the ball but was tightly marked by Tomiyasu. Booked late in the second half. 5.
Heung-min Son: The captain was completely absent in the first half. Pushed out to the left for most of the second half – his only worthwhile contribution was to score the penalty. 4.
Brennan Johnson: On after 30 minutes for the injured Werner. Unable to make an impact in the first half and spent the latter stages of the second playing out wide on the right – his delivery needs big improvement. 4.
Pape Matar Sarr: A half-time replacement for Bentancur, his energy in the middle of the park helped to improve matters. 5.
Richarlison: Back from injury and came on the for last half hour, tried to put himself about more than what Son managed in the central role. 5.
Yves Bissouma: A second half replacement, did okay. 5.
