Gary Neville has delivered a glowing verdict on Mikey Moore following Spurs’ 3-0 win over Manchester United.
Spurs short of options in attack
With captain Heung-min Son being ruled out along with long-term absentees, Richarlison and Wilson Odobert, Ange Postecoglou was down to the bare bones in attack.
The Australian decided to hand Timo Werner his first Premier League start of the season and chose to bring on 17-year-old winger Mikey Moore for the final 15 minutes of the game.
Moore delivered an impressive cameo, showcasing just why he is so highly rated by many at Hotspur Way.
Neville impressed by Moore
It was the first glimpse that Neville and many others had of the Tottenham youngster, who was not fazed by the prospect of stepping into the cauldron at Old Trafford.
The teenager was not afraid to express himself on the ball and came close to opening his account for the senior side, with his curled effort from outside the box just going the wrong side of the post.
Neville admitted that he was impressed with what he saw from Moore, stating that the youngster gave Noussair Mazraoui a difficult time.
The pundit said about the Spurs academy graduate on Sky Sports Premier League (29/09/24 at 6:25 pm): “He has been sharp since he has come on, Mikey Moore. He went for a curling shot, just a yard too wide.
“But he has looked interesting in this game, over on that far side against Mazraoui. It has been tough for the fullback. It has been a really good day for Spurs and those fans in that far corner.”
