BREAKING; Tottenham Last Hope On Champions League
Tottenham could still qualify for next season’s edition of the Champions League, despite losing their last four games. Back as early as August, it was clear that Spurs would face some big challenges toward the end of the 2023/24 season with games against Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea all in the space of seven days.
Prior to facing three of their ‘big six’ rivals, the Lilywhites were comfortably beaten by Newcastle United all while Aston Villa, minus this past weekend, picked up points. As things stand, Unai Emery’s side are seven points above Tottenham with three fixtures remaining for Ange Postecoglou and his players.
This weekend, Spurs will be hoping their run of defeats comes to an end with the visit of Burnley to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Just over 48 hours later, Villa have the chance to respond with a home clash against Liverpool set for Monday evening.
The following night sees Tottenham play their game in hand with reigning Premier League champions Manchester City heading to the capital.
While Spurs take on already-relegated Sheffield United, Villa must face the one team no one wants to currently play in Crystal Palace. The Eagles have shown great improvements under Oliver Glasner with four wins and 13 goals scored from their last five league games.
Palace will undoubtedly head into their next two games full of confidence with Joachim Andersen making a clear vow. Following the win over Manchester United, he wrote on Instagram: “Another great performance. 2 more wins to go. Happy for u my friend @ netsport.uk [arm flexed and red heart emoji].”
To Andersen, it is very clear what Palace are aiming for over the next seven days and Spurs desperately need the Eagles to do exactly that. More good performances from the Denmark international could see him secure a big move this summer with Postecoglou an admirer.
