Ange Postecoglou Update Tottenham About James Maddison and Micky van de Ven injury
Ange Postecoglou has suggested that Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven could be out for a while after he picked up a “significant” injury against Chelsea.
Spurs lost 4-1 against the Blues on Monday night (6 November) in the Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which was their first defeat of the season.
Postecoglou will miss Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie for the next game as well after both of them picked up red cards during the match. However, it is the injury of Van de Ven that should come as a real blow.
On top of it, Spurs could lose their creative playmaker James Maddison as well. The England international was taken off at the break and Postecoglou has suggested that he will be assessed.
Although it’s too early, given Micky’s appearance, one would believe this is a major one and that he will be sidelined for some time. We’ll just have to evaluate Madders and see how it is, as Postecoglou stated, citing Football London. Madders took a blow to the ankle.
Over the course of the ninety minutes, five goals were disallowed in a wild London derby. Despite losing Romero—who was rightfully sent off for challenging Enzo Fernandez—Spurs did battle gallantly. Tottenham, however, took a chance by sticking with the high line and let up three goals in the second half.
Van van Ven appears to have hurt his hamstring, while Maddison appears to have sustained an ankle injury. Next Saturday’s Premier League match between Spurs and Wolves is unlikely to bring any of them to Molineux.
