Ange Postecoglou and Mauricio Pochettino have had contrasting starts to their careers at their respective new Premier League teams after six games. The clubs have now taken distinctly different paths since both were hired earlier this summer in an effort to turn around the fortunes of two of the most underperforming and disorganized teams from the previous season.

Chelsea fans have continued to express their anger towards the club, booing the former Spurs boss during the past three matches. It has seen Postecoglou remain unbeaten in the league with four wins from his opening two months of competitive action. Pochettino has only won one.

“For a team that are expected to be amongst it, expected to win things, expected to play well with a manager that you’re thinking should be able to sort it out. Up to this point I still haven’t seen it.

“When you look at someone like Ange Postecoglou, he’s come in and we’re seeing it. [At Chelsea] we’re still not seeing it.”

After the international break in October, the two teams will face off. Spurs have a fairly favorable schedule up to that point, while Chelsea is about to embark on a difficult stretch that includes games against Manchester City, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Brighton before the end of November.

The Blues’ decline comes after weeks of ambiguity throughout the summer, during which time a number of managers were linked to the position, including some claims that Postecoglou, then at Celtic, was one of the contenders. Many people were annoyed by Tottenham’s lengthy hiring procedure for Postecoglou when they were also doing the same.
