Tottenham youngster Dane Scarlett has been spotted in first-team training ahead of Spurs’ FA Cup clash against Burnley.

The teenage attacker last week returned to the north London side after Scarlett’s loan deal with Championship flyers Ipswich Town was cut short due to a lack of playing time.

The England youth international only managed 189 minutes in total for the Tractor Boys, and as a result, Scarlett has now returned to Tottenham, where the striker could now be in contention to feature.

As per Lilywhite Rose on Twitter, the 19-year-old has been seen back in first-team training at Hotspur Way, with Tottenham set to take on Burnley next in the FA Cup.

Lauded by Jose Mourinho as an ‘incredible’ prospect, there’s every chance that Scarlett could feature for Tottenham this weekend in the cup.

Indeed, Ange Postecoglou is already a big fan of the teenage forward, and the Australian coach might be willing to give Scarlett some minutes this week if the Tottenham youngster is ready to return to action.

Dane Scarlett could benefit from Tottenham return vs Burnley

Scarlett’s development just hasn’t hit the heights many were expecting from the youngster when the striker first burst onto the scene.

Yet the 19-year-old still has a lot to prove in the senior game, and Tottenham should be willing to give Scarlett a chance in the FA Cup this weekend against Burnley.

As we know, Postecoglou is a manager who prides himself in giving youth a chance, and the former Celtic manager could do just that for Scarlett this weekend.

Minutes against a Premier League side will be crucial for the teenager, and a good performance could even help Scarlett win another loan move this January, with the striker in need of regular playing time.
