Andy Thompson hails Wolves player who ‘battled tirelessly’ in 4-1 win at Fulham
Wolves recorded another win in the Premier League on Saturday, and Andy Thompson was left impressed by a number of players including one who worked ‘tirelessly’.
Wolves moved out of the relegation zone with the win, and there is a sense of optimism after the last couple of results.
The hope was always that Wolves could start to get points on the board from the Southampton game onwards and so far, it’s been the perfect start with six points taken from the Saints and Fulham.
Wolves are actually now four unbeaten, and there looks to be a confidence about the team again. Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker both feel O’Neil has his spark back, and the hope is that he can now guide Wolves up the table.
Thre were top individual performances everywhere for Wolves against Fulham, and Andy Thompson has given Jorgen Strand Larsen his due credit
Jorgen Strand Larsen may not have added to his four Premier League goals against Fulham, but it was another industrious performance from the Norwegian.
Strand Larsen played a full game for Wolves, which has only happened a handful of times before and he looks to be getting fitter.
His work rate is always very good, and it was noticeable once again at Craven Cottage – and former Molineux full-back Andy Thompson was pleased with the striker’s efforts.
He said on Matchday Live Extra: “I thought Larsen battled tirelessly up front. Because Bassey is a good player, he’s comfortable on the ball. But I thought he battled well.
“I just think we utilised him a lot better today. We weren’t afraid to play the long balls and I said that at the beginning. I think we’ve got to mix it up a little bit. If you’ve got someone like his talent up front, who’s willing to work hard, willing to get there, he might not win everything, but he just knocks teams off their feet a little.
“He did really well today.”
Strand Larsen has been a great signing
He didn’t get on the scoresheet against Fulham, but Strand Larsen battled hard once again and really contributed to the win.
