Nottingham Forest
What Andrew Omobamidele said to Ryan Yates last night on the field is shared.
Andrew Omobamidele has shared what he was talking about with Ryan Yates ahead of his first Nottingham Forest goal.
The defender was speaking with BBC Radio Nottingham after the 3-2 win over Blackpool.
So, what did Omobamidele have to say about his maiden Forest goal? We’ve taken a closer look…
What Andrew Omobamidele was talking about before Forest goal
The 21-year-old was a surprise inclusion in the Forest team as the Republic of Ireland international replaced Joe Worrall.
He’s waited patiently for a chance to shine in the team since his £11 million move from Norwich in the summer.
He took his chance to shine with aplomb and even found time to score his first goal for the club to open the scoring.
Ahead of the corner which Forest scored from Omobamidele was spotted talking to Yates – and he recognised that he might get the chance of a goal.
He told BBC Radio Nottingham: “Yeah, just before the corner we actually spoke about it. After the work done by Woody and Yatesy, it was put on a plate for me. I’ve missed a fair few of them in training to be fair.”
Omobamidele gives head coach something to think about
This has been a long time coming and it was evident that Omobamidele was keen to grasp this Forest chance.
His performance was pretty useful and not only did he score but he showed some other good moments too.
Defensively, he was sound, with Sofa Score showcasing that he made nine clearances during the game.
He was also comfortable with the ball at his feet and completed 86% of his 58 attempted passes.
With Moussa Niakhate and Willy Boly at the African Cup of Nations, Omobamidele will hope that this performance earns him more Forest opportunities.
