West Ham Evening Recaps: Before I Came In As The Coach I knew The Kind Of Player That…

Graham Potter names West Ham player who has really impressed him in training – ‘He loves the club’

West Ham United head coach Graham Potter is slowly starting to imprint his style onto his squad at the London Stadium.

Graham Potter has only been at West Ham for a little over six weeks, after he replaced Julen Lopetegui at the London Stadium in January.

And his Hammers tenure began in really challenging fashion.

After the win over Arsenal though, things are really looking up for West Ham.

Potter is extremely level headed and down to earth – he got the Jubilee Line back home after the 1-0 win at The Emirates – so he wouldn’t have been panicking about his tough start to life with West Ham

There are so many things to be excited about at West Ham right now.

One of them is the sheer volume of talented young stars we have coming through the ranks.

And the standout of the group has really laid down a marker to the others this season.

Graham Potter raves about West Ham starlet Ollie Scarles

Ollie Scarles was absolutely terrific for West Ham against Arsenal on Saturday.

Jarrod Bowen didn’t hold back when praising Scarles after the 1-0 win against the Gunners.

The talented teenager looked like a seasoned pro on the Emirates turf, and he has now firmly established himself as our number one left-back.

Potter has highlighted just how hard Scarles has worked to get where he is today

He trains hard every day, but he’s a great person as well. He’s fully committed, loves the Club, loves the team, and he wants to play for West Ham.

He’s got a lot going for him, and really his personality is really impressive. It’s a huge thank you to the Academy really, because they’ve helped us by developing a top player!

If Scarles is to reach the very highest level of the game, he needs to continue his hard work off the pitch as well as on it

I have absolutely no doubts that he will do just that.

Watching him grow and develop as a player over the next few years will be a real pleasure for the Hammers fans.

The 19-year-old is a truly incredible talent.

And Graham Potter must be delighted that he has Ollie Scarles amongst his ranks at West Ham.
