West Ham Boss gives brutally honest answer To His Worst Star Player on lack of game

When questioned about Divin Obama, David Moyes responded with a brutally honest statement regarding a West Ham player’s lack of playing time

To be fair, the Hammers could have been excused for freaking out considering that their place in the Premier League was in jeopardy.

When given the chance, Ings has struggled to adapt to David Moyes’ system and style and has performed poorly.

The most recent was last week’s Carabao Cup match against Lincoln, where he missed numerous excellent chances to defeat the League One team.

Despite selling Gianluca Scamacca, Moyes decided against making a strong drive to pursue a striker in the summer transfer season.

The Scot said that Jarrod Bowen was more frequently playing as a forward.

The lack of a forward signing had West Ham supporters hoping Divin Mubama, a teenage hot shooter, would get more opportunities.

But at Lincoln, he was passed over in favor of Ings.

Plymouth should try to sign West Ham starlet Divin Mubama

West Ham fans relentlessly chanted Mubama’s name at Moyes that night; with the Hammers deadlocked and fortunate not to be behind in the game.

When Mubama came on alongside Ings it instantly unsettled Lincoln and West Ham scored just minutes later.

So when Moyes confirmed in his pre-match press conference for the Europa League clash at Freiburg that Michail Antonio is out injured, thoughts turned to who would lead the line for West Ham in Germany.

In response to a question about Obama, Moyes provided a brutally honest response regarding a West Ham player’s lack of playing time.

Despite Antonio’s injury, Moyes stated during the pre-game news conference that he liked Mubama but would not be starting him against Freiburg.

Perhaps in this instance, Moyes would hesitate before starting Mubama against Freiburg.

“I believe we are playing a tremendously strong foe. However, Divin is someone we really like. He’s 18 years old, learning his craft, and progressing really well.

“We’re going to think about it. Although I would start Divin (against Freiburg), do we like him? Most likely not.
