VfL inBruneck, Day 4: Welcome change
Halfway point again in Gais. The fourth day in South Tyrol is over. And it looked a little different than the days before. A welcome change for everyone involved, before things get back to normal tomorrow. The daily report:
Hoffi departs – Thiede loaned out
The morning was initially dominated by two personnel announcements. Philipp Hofmann left the training camp during the night and began his journey home. No, don’t worry. Hoffi is not injured and there is no transfer planned. The reason is much better, because the Hofmann family is expecting their second child. So he quickly went home to his wife. Team manager Hannes Hahn drove Hoffi to the airport in Verona at night, then they went home via Munich. We wish him all the best for the upcoming birth. It was also announced earlier in the day that goalkeeper Niclas Thiede will be leaving Castroper Strasse for the time being. The keeper is moving on loan to second division newcomers SSV Ulm. Two training groups – Ordets included
At 10 a.m., we went out on the pitch on time. Those who played 45 minutes or more against Spezia Calcio yesterday completed a regenerative unit. The rest tried out game forms and finishes. Youngster Alessandro Crimaldi managed a really impressive scissor-kick. You can admire it on our social media channels. It’s usually worth taking a look (actually always, but we don’t want to praise ourselves too much). Also pleasing: Ivan Ordets, who had only trained individually here in Gais up to that point, took part in team training for the first time. Good!
Free afternoon
The morning session was to be the only one on this Wednesday. The afternoon belonged to the boys. The coaching team allowed the players a few free hours. Everyone could spend them however they wanted. A few players went to the nearby golf course, others relaxed in the hotel garden or by the lake. A group of staff members drove up to the Kronplatz. It’s a must after intensive sessions in high temperatures. Incidentally, on the afternoon off, a few rainy clouds passed over Gais. But a little cooling off can’t hurt, it’s fine.
Wittek vs. Passlack
Toto versus Gambo, you know it, that’s our premium content product in the training camp. But of course we’re also scouting and looking for new talent in front of the camera. Because let’s be honest: Toto and Gambo probably won’t be playing for another seven or eight years either. Unfortunately. We’ve already thought about employing the two men in the content department after their active careers and bringing them back every summer. But back to reality. After lunch, Felix Passlack and Maxi Wittek stopped by. Appropriately, in the kids’ club of the team hotel. Wittek as a new dad and Passlack as a future dad were able to get used to their upcoming leisure activities. But first, let’s get into the direct duel. Topic: football, of course. Check it out .
Singing performance at the end
A welcome change on this Wednesday. Also in terms of dinner. Although it is actually always world class here. Today, however, there was a large barbecue on the terrace of the Windschar holiday and wellness hotel. And the players were also allowed to help themselves to the barbecue buffet. There was great cheering in advance. Because the first part of the new arrivals gave the obligatory singing performance to mark their debut. Dani de Wit, Ibrahima Sissoko, Niklas Jahn and Lennart Koerdt performed in front of the rest of the team. They are all talented, and not just on the pitch!
