MASSIVE: Two New Players signing from Fluminense and Cordoba

The Rangers are actively working to bolster their squad ahead of the summer transfer window’s official opening.

Following the signing of Jefte from Fluminense, the club is focused on finalizing deals for two more players: Panama centre-back Jose Cordoba and Motherwell goalkeeper Liam Kelly.

Jose Cordoba has been a long-term target for the Rangers. The Panama international attended the Rangers’ 4-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Ibrox, indicating strong interest from both parties. Cordoba is expected to strengthen the central defense, particularly as the club looks to future-proof their backline with players like Conor Goldson and Leon Balogun aging.

Liam Kelly his move has been confirmed by Motherwell, indicating his departure from Fir Park. Kelly is expected to join the Rangers as a back-up to first-choice goalkeeper Jack Butland. However, should Butland leave for a significant fee this summer, Kelly might find himself competing for the starting position, especially if current number two, Robby McCrorie, also exits.

The early and proactive moves in the transfer market reflect the ambitions of manager Philippe Clement and the club’s intent to rejuvenate the squad. The arrivals of Jefte, Cordoba, and Kelly signify a strategic shift aimed at strengthening key positions and preparing for the upcoming season.
