Two Days After West Ham United “Victory” Over Arsenal, Hammer’s Boss Has Been The…

Tomas Soucek the machine defies belief with his choice of activity on Sunday after West Ham’s famous win over Arsenal

West Ham United have a terrific player on our hands in the form of Tomas Soucek.

I personally believed that Tomas Soucek had no future at West Ham after the arrival of Graham Potter at the London Stadium last month.

How wrong I was.

Tomas Soucek has been exceptional for the West Ham this season, but many of his performances go under the radar.

That’s due to the fact that he does the so-called unfashionable things very well for West Ham.

One thing’s for sure, Potter is clearly a really big fan of Soucek.

The Hammers head coach obviously sees the big 29-year-old as a vital cog in his machine, both defensively and inside the final third.

He proved that once again with a really solid, hard-working working performance against the Gunners.

But what he did the day after that famous 1-0 win will blow your minds…

West Ham star Tomas Soucek defies belief

Despite receiving plenty of criticism from some Hammers fans, there are a few things that the Czech Republic international possesses in abundance.

His energy, stamina and work-rate can be matched by few in the game. He’s crucial for us when defending set-pieces as well.

It’s no coincidence that three managers in a row have all used him as a key player is it.

And Soucek showed everyone just how fit he is yesterday, buy taking on a challenge with his daughter in East London.

London Half & 10k presented by TREK took place in and around the London Stadium and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

There were three options for the runners – a half marathon, 10k or 2k for juniors.

It isn’t clear which race Soucek entered but either way, what a great effort from Big Tom the day after putting in a major shift against Arsenal at The Emirates.

Tomas Soucek’s incredible stats will blow your minds

Whilst the word legend gets thrown about far too easily these days, to call Soucek a cult hero just doesn’t do him justice.

He joined the Hammers at a really difficult moment, with relegation down to the Championship a very real prospect.

Tomas Soucek, alongside Jarrod Bowen of course, helped fire West Ham to safety in the end, and he’s been pretty much an ever present in the team over the past five years.

In 24 Premier League games for the Hammers this season, Soucek has bagged five goals and one assist. During those appearances he has averaged 1.3 tackles, 2.5 clearances and 3.2 aerial duels per match (Who Scored).

We all know he’s not the best footballer in the world from a technical perspective, but he will give absolutely everything for the shirt.

As West Ham fans, that’s all we ask for isn’t it?
