Transfer guru reveals who has been “pushing” last minute Rangers deal

Rangers move for Fluminense talent Jefte came out of nowhere last week and, just seven days later, Philippe Clement has closure on the deal.

Unfortunately for the Gers boss, the Brazilian full-back won’t be arriving at Ibrox in this window to strengthen his squad with Fabrizio Romano revealing a hitch in the deal.

A summer transfer is acceptable given that Rangers are well-stocked for cover at left-back but the transfer guru has explained what was the driving factor in the Jefte proposal, as told to GiveMeSport.

Rangers given encouragement in summer Jefte transfer

Jefte looked like an exciting proposition and it appears that the player was determined to make the dream become a reality too after Rangers reached an agreement with his parent club Fluminense.

Before announcing that APOEL decided that they didn’t want to lose a key player for the rest of the season, Romano pointed to the 20-year old as being the one trying to make it happen.

“The player wants to go there, but he is on loan to APOEL Nicosia. The only way to make it happen is to get approval from APOEL Nicosia to break the loan and let him go to Rangers.

“Rangers are waiting for the green light, but it is still not arriving. Let’s see what happens because, otherwise, Rangers could look at some other options in that position.
