Ange Postecoglou’s men come into the clash looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the 2023/24 season. Saturday’s 2-0 win over AFC Bournemouth has continued Spurs’ fine start to life under Postecoglou after their draw with Brentford and victory over Manchester United.

Goals from James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski lifted the north Londoners to third in the Premier League table, but focus now turns to the EFL Cup. Spurs travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham on Tuesday evening looking to confirm their spot in the third round.

A number of players are expected to be rested ahead of this weekend’s trip to Burnley. However, one man who may miss out is Destiney Udogie. The wing-back had to receive medical attention toward the end of the win at Bournemouth before being replaced by Ben Davies.

Against Bournemouth, supporters were delighted to see Maddison named in the starting XI. The midfielder suffered an injury scare following the win over Man United and was spotted leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on crutches and with a protective boot on.

Maddison played 73 minutes at the Vitality Stadium, winning the Premier League Man of the Match award after netting his first goal for the club.

However, Spurs will continue to be without a number of players. Rodrigo Bentancur is still recovering from the long-term knee injury picked up in February while Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) and Bryan Gil (groin) remain out.

Tanguy Ndombele continues to sit out after suffering an injury in pre-season. The midfielder enjoyed a successful loan spell with Napoli last season but is yet to feature under Postecoglou.
