Tottenham is prepared to sell their “superstar” talent at a price of just £6m

Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to sell Bryan Gil this month for a very small fee.

Spurs are having a fine season under Ange Postecoglou, and they’ve done some impressive business in this month’s transfer window already. Gil has been in the news lately, and there’s a chance he could leave Tottenham in the coming days.

Tottenham are ready to sell Bryan Gil for just £6m

Tottenham signed Bryan Gil from Sevilla back in 2021 in a player-plus-cash swap deal.

The North Londoners convinced the Spanish side to accept a package of £21.6 million plus Erik Lamela (Sky Sports), and there was a lot of excitement about the deal when it went through.

Gil, however, hasn’t lived up to all the hype. He has started just 14 games for Spurs in all competitions – just four of those have come in the Premier League.

Reports from Spain claimed earlier this week that Gil’s transfer value has dropped down to £6.9 million (€8m).

Now, Estadio Deportivo have claimed that Tottenham themselves have put a price tag on Gil, and he will be available to be bought for a fee between £6 million to 6.9 million (€7-8m).

Real Sociedad are said to be interested in signing the Spaniard, who has been branded as a ‘superstar‘ by Graham Roberts.

Everybody knew Spurs would make a big loss on Gil, but we didn’t expect it to be this big.

Tottenham should keep Gil till the summer

Even though it’s clear that Bryan Gil has been a disappointing signing, an argument can be made that he just hasn’t been given enough opportunities.

Neither Nuno Espirito Santo nor Antonio Conte fancied Gil, and he was not the right type of player for either of their systems at Spurs.

Under Ange Postecoglou, however, Gil could have a future. The Australian’s attacking football suits the 22-year-old, and if he gets enough opportunities, he could still come good.

We think Spurs should keep hold of Gil until the summer. Even if he doesn’t step up to the level required at Tottenham, there’s a small chance his value could go up.
