Tottenham has spent years scouting a £35 million Premier League playmaker.

Morgan Gibbs-White is one of the better players in the bottom-half of the Premier League.

The Nottingham Forest star cost the Reds big money last summer, but he’s somehow proven to be worth that £35m fee.

Indeed, the attacking midfielder has been fantastic for Forest over the past 18 months, and, as you can imagine, his showings for the Tricky Trees have garnered interest from some of the bigger clubs in the league.

Speaking on The Spurs Chat Podcast, Sami Mokbel has been discussing Gibbs-White in regards to Tottenham’s interest in the player, and he says that Gibbs-White has been a player that Tottenham have been looking at for quite some time.

Gibbs-White been scouted for ages

Mokbel shared what he knows about the £35m player.

“Morgan Gibbs-White is a really good player and he is a player that is of long-term interest to Tottenham. He’s not a new target, he’s been on their radar for years and they will have done all the due dilligence and scouting on him, they will know all about him, but I would be shocked if Nottingham Forest, the situation they’re in, would consider selling their best player to Tottenham, I would be shocked if that deal had legs this month,” Mokbel said.

Exciting

This is a very exciting rumour to say the least.

Gibbs-White is a fantastic player, and if Tottenham could find a way to get him working in tandem with James Maddison in this Spurs squad, they would have limitless creativity in that midfield.

Factor in that Gibbs-White is a player who knows how to get the best out of Brennan Johnson from their time together at Forest, and you have a signing that makes the world of sense.

This may be a situation worth keeping an eye on in the coming weeks.
