“Too Many Ups And Down” For Carlos Acaraz, And The Young Spanish Confessed That He Felt Strange But What Weak Him Most Was The…
Carlos Alcaraz sets his first practice session in Miami: all the details
Too many ups and downs for Carlos Alcaraz in the first two and a half months of the 2025 season. The young Spanish ace has picked up a title so far (at the Rotterdam ATP 500), the quarterfinals at the Australian Open and Doha ATP 500 and the semifinals at the Indian Wells Masters 1000.
Everyone was convinced that the 21-year-old from Murcia would triumph in California for the third year in a row, but his run ended against Jack Draper who played impressive tennis throughout the tournament winning the first Masters 1000 of his career.
If he had lifted the trophy yesterday, the 4-time Grand Slam champion would have moved to just over 400 points behind Alexander Zverev in the ATP ranking.
Carlitos still has a chance to return to world number 2 after the Miami Open, scheduled at the Hard Rock Stadium from March 19 to 30. To achieve this, the Spaniard will need to win the tournament (where he already prevailed in 2022) and hope that Sascha loses before the quarterfinals.
Considering that the German is going through a very negative moment after the Australian Open final – in which he was literally demolished by Jannik Sinner – it is not an impossible scenario.
The champion from Hamburg is in crisis and was eliminated by Tallon Griekspoor in the second round in the first Masters 1000 of the season.
Alcaraz – on the other hand – is back in good spirits after the semifinal defeat in California and wants to win his second title in Florida.
Alcaraz wants to shine in Miami
According to reports from ‘MARCA’, the former world number 1 will arrive in Miami on Monday night and will start practicing at the Hard Rock Stadium from Tuesday 18 March.
After his match against Draper in Indian Wells, Carlos confessed that he had a strange feeling: “I didn’t feel well during the last practice session and I didn’t find the best sensations on the court either.
I was nervous all day and that affected me. The last time I was eliminated in the semifinals here, then I won the title in Miami. I hope to do the same thing this year.”
