Timo Werner claims £15 million player is the best he has played alongside with

Timo Werner says he’s already struck up a ‘very good’ understanding with Tottenham Hotspur full-back Destiny Udogie.

The German forward has been speaking about his Tottenham debut at Old Trafford, where he registered an assist in the 2-2 draw.

Spurs were dominant on the day but failed to take all three points after being hit against the run of play on two occasions.

But Timo Werner enjoyed a fairly promising first game in a Tottenham shirt and linked up well with Destiny Udogie down the left-hand side.

And Werner has admitted that he’s already built up a strong relationship with the talented youngster.

Werner already loves playing alongside Udogie at Tottenham

Speaking to Spurs Play, when asked about his relationship with Udogie, Werner said: “Very good, this one works very good in training already. I think straight away we had a good connection.

“How he goes into midfield and how I stay wide, I think that fits very well. I think both of us feel very comfortable with these positions and also after two to three training sessions, I really don’t know his movements in the last third.

“But I think now we have two weeks until the next game, it can only be better and I think it is already good how we play together.”

Udogie has starred for Spurs this season in what is his debut campaign in the Premier League.

The £15 million man had formed a strong partnership with Heung-Min Son before the Tottenham skipper headed off on international duty at the Asian Cup.

There were some encouraging early signs when it came to him and Werner linking up down the left-hand side too.

Werner had only trained with Tottenham for a few days before making his debut and faired well, alongside Udogie.

Both players possess exceptional pace and this could well be a promising partnership forming at Spurs.
