The latest defeat has been the worst of the lot, with rivals Brighton cruising to a 4-1 win at the Amex.
After this, reports of his departure have accelerated with HITC‘s Graeme Bailey admitting that Steve Parish could now sack Hodgson.
But there’s a problem on the Crystal Palace end which has now been mentioned by journalist Alan Nixon.
The problem Crystal Palace have with sacking Roy Hodgson
The transfer expert engaged in a detailed discussion with supporters on X, within which he’s dropped some insightful knowledge on the clubs new manager hunt.
Firstly he explained the factor which is prohibiting Palace from replacing Hodgson right now: “Thats the problem. They don’t seem to agree on any of the possibles.”
Continuing, Nixon then was quizzed on who’ll be making the final call on Hodgson’s eventual replacement. He explained: “Names get pitched in … but Parish decides”.
Therefore with Parish having the deciding vote, it’s no surprise that there is such uncertainty and soft decision making currently going on.
Palace have quite a few options for next manager
Steve Cooper is the club’s ideal choice if reports are to be believed, although we’ve highlighted as many as six names who could be options.
As well as this, Julen Lopetegui remains in the running with Palace fans being advised to keep their eyes on him.
Palace would rather have until May to make the decision with Hodgson’s contract running until then. But with results going the way they are, Palace are being dragged into a relegation battle and so change could be needed sooner.
The board need to get onto the same page and come to an agreement in order for the transition to go smoothly and the new manager to have the backing of a united club.
