spurs and Bayern in a clash as Harry Kane deal is inserted

Tottenham are reportedly set to face Bayern Munich in a friendly match this summer. The arrangement was made during the negotiations for the Harry Kane transfer to the Bundesliga outfit before the start of the season, with the England international set to return to his old stomping ground in August.

Spurs decided to part ways with Kane over the summer after it quickly became clear that he would not extend his contract with the north London outfit. After having several offers knocked back initially, Bayern reached an agreement with Tottenham to sign the striker for £82million, and the forward hasn’t looked back since.

Kane has scored 26 goals in 23 appearances for Thomas Tuchel’s side and is comfortably the top scorer in the Bundesliga with 22 goals. The 30-year-old is on course for a record-breaking season and is expected to finally get his hands on at least one trophy by the end of the campaign.

Tottenham have also enjoyed a strong start to the season, with Ange Postecoglou implementing a new system which ensured that the team were not reliant on one sole goal-scoring outlet, as they were previously. Kane will be able to see how his former side are getting on under the management of the ex-Celtic boss at the end of the season, it has been revealed.

According to BILD, as part of the negotiations for Kane, two friendlies will take place between Bayern and Tottenham, with the first game scheduled for the second week of August. The match is set to take place in London, with Spurs receiving the proceeds.

The second game has not yet been scheduled and it remains to be seen whether both sides opt to clash again in 2025 to try and maximise the opportunity.

Kane isn’t the only ex-Spurs star who will be returning to his former club though, with new Bayern signing Eric Dier also set to return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The centre-back joined the Allianz Arena outfit earlier this month on a loan-to-buy deal after falling out of favour under Postecoglou.

The English duo could be set to link up with a familiar face in the Bundesliga as well over the coming weeks, with Kieran Trippier emerging as a shock target at Bayern. Tuchel is desperate to acquire the services of a right-back this month, with the Newcastle defender viewed as a more attainable player than Paris Saint-Germain’s Nordi Mukiele, reports Di Marzio.
