Sky Sports Revealed A “Shocking” That Will Occur In The March Between Chelsea And Wolves, What To Know
Sky Sports have struck an agreement with the Premier League that will allow them to show multiple live matches at the same time, but it doesn’t kick in until next season
This means that roughly 70% of all Premier League matches will now be shown on live TV in the UK, with 80% of those broadcast on Sky Sports. As a result, more live matches are expected to be held on Monday and Friday evenings.
Plus, for the first time ever, Sky Sports will be broadcasting all 10 Premier League matches on the final day of the season. Reacting to news of the agreement, Sky Group CEO Dana Strong branded it “a fantastic result” for fans
She said: “This is a fantastic result for Sky customers, who will see a significant increase in the number of matches from the most iconic league in the world. We are proud of our long history with the Premier League and look forward to delivering more engagement, entertainment, and innovation to the end of the decade.”
For years now, English football fans have taken umbrage with the amount of unaired Premier League matches, particularly given the cost of TV subscriptions. In order to watch every broadcasted Premier League game this season, fans will need subscriptions to Sky Sports, TNT Sports and Amazon Prime, which could cost upwards of £79 per month.
Despite this, just 52% of all top flight matches were shown on UK TV last season. However, the deal struck between Sky Sports and the Premier League should partially remedy the problem from the 2025/26 season onwards.
