SHOCKING! Everton Failed Woefully On The Deal Of Young Talent, Coach Worries
Everton recently submitted a bid with a base fee of €8 million and €2 million in add-ons to sign Jackson Tchatchoua from Serie A club Hellas Verona this summer.
According to a report by Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Jackson Tchatchoua is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees have been scouring the market for a right-back heading into the summer transfer window, with the 22-year-old a target. However, they have failed with their first offer for the Hellas Verona full-back, with the Serie A club demanding a base fee of €10 million.
How has Jackson Tchatchoua fared at Hellas Verona so far?
Jackson Tchatchoua has established himself as a pivotal figure for Hellas Verona since arriving from Royal Charleroi SC. The Serie A club initially signed the youngster on a season-long loan deal last summer before completing a permanent transfer on July 1 for a low-money sum.
While the 22-year-old was not the undisputed first-choice right-back for Hellas Verona last season, he made his mark in his 27 outings while chipping in with two assists. Meanwhile, Jackson Tchatchoua’s progress at the Serie A club has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe.
A move to the Premier League might be on the cards for the Cameroonian international, with a few top-flight clubs setting their sights on him. Jackson Tchatchoua’s next destination might be Everton, with the Toffees intensifying their efforts to sign him by submitting a bid with a base fee of €8 million and €2 million in add-ons.
From Serie A to the Premier League soon?
Everton’s interest in Jackson Tchatchoua is understandable. The Toffees have been scouring the market for a right-back heading into the summer transfer window due to the advancing age of Seamus Coleman. In addition, Nathan Patterson has been injury-prone during his spell with Everton thus far.
So, it behoves the Merseyside outfit to scour the market for a right-back in the summer transfer window, with Tchatchoua emerging as a viable target. However, Everton’s opening bid has not convinced Hellas Verona, with the Serie A outfit demanding a base fee of around €10 million instead of the sum being the value of the total package.
So, Everton must raise the base fee by 25 per cent to €10 million, with the value of add-ons at €2 million being fine for Hellas Verona. It will be interesting to see if the Toffees land the 22-year-old Cameroonian international this summer.
