Stefano Sensi is reportedly only a step away from joining Leicester City as Inter wait to receive the final offer.
The Foxes have been keeping an eye on the 28-year-old Italian midfielder for a little while now and decided to accelerate in their pursuit of him after Chelsea decided to recall loanee Cesare Casadei, leaving a gap in Enzo Maresca’s midfield.
Sensi returned to Inter from Monza in the summer but hasn’t been included in Simone Inzaghi’s plans, seeing just 65 minutes of action across four games this season. His contract with the club expires at the end of this season.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Sensi is a step away from joining Leicester after agreeing personal terms with the English side, who are now formalising their €2m offer to Inter. Things are moving forward positively and a deal could be completed in the coming days.
The Italian midfielder’s time at the Nerazzurri has ultimately proven to be disappointing following his exciting start, which saw him score three goals and provide four assists in his first six games back in 2019. Injuries have derailed his career at Inter, limiting him to just 56 games over the last five years.
