Review; The punishment relates to accusations Of Leeds Ex Jansson spoke

Pontus Jansson was released from Brentford during the summer and returned to his childhood club Malmo.

Pontus Jansson, a former member of Leeds United, has been suspended after an alleged confrontation with a doping control officer. The defender presently plays for his boyhood club, Malmo FF, although he will miss their upcoming games due to a two-match suspension.

The punishment is in response to claims that Jansson insulted and improperly addressed a doping control official and violated orders when he was chosen for a drug test following a game. Malmo contested the ruling, claiming that certain details of the incident weren’t accurately recorded.

However, the suspension has been upheld, ruling the ex-Leeds man out of tonight’s clash with Brommapojkarna and the following clash with Kalmar FF next weekend.

In a statement released on Malmo’s website, sports manager Daniel Andersson expressed his disappointment with the decision: “Over the years, we have been involved in a lot of doping controls that have been carried out without problems.

“The organization this time was a little different than we are used to and some misunderstandings arose which we believe could have been avoided with more clarity and better leadership on the part of the controllers. Having said that, we in Malmö FF could and should have acted in a much better way. And we think the same applies to those who were responsible for the control.

“Although it is amazing and terrible that ten weeks pass between the occurrence and the decision regarding potential penalty, we have now given up on being heard; the decision has been made, and all that is left for us to do is to follow it. We still have some crucial games to win this year, and we’ve already proven how powerful we are when our fans, teams, and association work together for success.

Since ending his relationship with Premier League team Brentford at the end of the previous season, Jansson has represented Malmo. The 32-year-old has made 11 appearances for the Allsvenskan team, scoring one since returning in August against Halmstads.
