REPORT; YouTube sensations the Sidemen descended on the Bullring today and All seven members of the Sidemen Speech
YouTube sensations the Sidemen descended on the Bullring today to open their newest clothing store. The seven social media stars were at the city centre shopping centre this afternoon opening SDMN Clothing.
All seven members of the Sidemen – KSI, Simon (Miniminter), Ethan (Behzinga), Harry (W2S) John (Zerkaa), Tobi (TBJZL) and Vikkstar officially opened the Bullring store – in an opening event that got underway shortly after 2pm.
The SDMN Clothing store is opening in the former Menkind shop, between Foot Asylum and JD Sports. The new 4,500 square foot store in the Bullring will house a wide array of merchandise products, including a new SDMN x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration range.
Established in 2013, the rise of Sidemen Clothing has coincided with the Sidemen’s ever-growing online presence. Formed by seven friends, the Sidemen YouTube channel has more than 21.6 million subscribers and a total of six billion video views.
Fans of the Sidemen had been queuing for hours to catch a glimpse of the stars. The new store opened with a huge confetti cannon as KSI said: “Birmingham! Make some noise for the Sidemen Clothing store.
“Thank you very much for coming through for us today. We want to just say to make some noise for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
“We want to do something really cool. We are going to press this white button to create chaos. A countdown from 10. Birmingham are you ready?”
Earlier today, SDMN Clothing managing director, Matt Peters, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be joining forces with the Bullring to bring the Sidemen brand to Birmingham. Last year we established that the brand absolutely works in a physical retail space and with our new store we’re confident we will continue to evolve and flourish as a unique fashion brand.”
Bye from us!
Thanks so much for joining us today as we zipped around the Bullring with the Sidemen! It won’t be long before we’re back in the centre again for another grand opening or two… Make sure you’re subscribed to our free newsletter and we’ll make sure you never miss a thing – it’s under the ‘Lifestyle’ tab and it’s called CityLife.
Really hope that if you are heading out to SDMN over the weekend, you get what you’re hoping for. Don’t forget our sneaky tip for securing a truly magical bag!
See you guys in the next one. Appreciate you taking the time to hang out with us today!
We were really happy to meet fans on the front row at the SDMN store and learn more about what they were hoping to get from the new shop. Dedicated supporters of the Sidemen were out in force and those right down the front really earned their position as some of the first through the doors of the new Bullring shop.
A special hello to Kieran, who managed to get armfuls of goodies by way of reward for all of that queuing. Here he is, looking chuffed! Well done, Kieran, you deserve it! Here’s the story.
Well that was exciting wasn’t it? The Sideman opened their second clothing store right here in the Bullring.
It’s on the lower mall, near JD Sports, if you want to check it out this weekend. But for now, here’s a gallery of photos from today’s huge launch!
neaking around, live on the scene
Hiya! It’s Kirsty here, back in the office and picking ticker tape out of my hair after a crazy few hours at the Bullring. I’m a regular gig-goer but the screams when KSI and the boys arrived in the Bullring are still ringing in my ears even now. What a racket!
While I was reporting on the event in the shopping centre, I have to admit to something: I snuck in the SDMN shop before the first customer crossed the threshold, nosying around to see what the fuss was all about. I was right behind the YouTubers themselves as they headed back in… and I noticed something VERY interesting.
If you’re a fan of the Sidemen and you’re planning on going to SDMN this weekend, I’ve got a tip for you that could change everything.
