Report: Nottingham Forest want to sign £7m Wolves player but he’ll be expensive
Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis would dearly love to sign Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa – but it might not be possible.

Well, it would seem as though Forest are now going to be going full steam ahead to sign a goalkeeper this month.
According to The Irish Sun, the Reds are still very fond of Jose Sa – with Evangelos Marinakis a big fan in particular.
However, Forest fans must hang back on cracking open the champagne as a deal for Sa will be tricky.
He’s currently in possession of the gloves at Wolves and signing him would be extremely tough due to the finances involved.
Forest are hoping to land a new goalkeeper before the deadline on Thursday but ultimately they have to cut the cloth accordingly.
Who is Jose Sa?
The Portuguese stopper has been at Molineux since 2021 when he replaced Rui Patricio who joined Roma.
It’s not a surprise that Marinakis is keen to sign Sa, with the Forest owner having the goalkeeper at Olympiacos.
Sa has also played for Porto and Maritimo during his career but it’s at Wolves where he’s excelled.
He’s kept 27 clean sheets during 98 appearances for Wolves and he cost the club just £7 million when he checked in from Greece.
Sa is established in the Premier League and he would be a quality signing – if he wasn’t going to be so expensive.
As a result, Forest may have to park this interest and go back to the drawing board this month.
Rumour rating: 8/10 – We like this link a lot but it’s a shame that Wolves are extremely unlikely to do business with Forest over Sa this month.
The goalkeeper is their number one by some distance and it could prove a frustrating chase for Marinakis over the 31-year-old.
Watch this space, however, as in our view, Forest might revisit this interest in the summer.
