Leeds United are said to be closely monitoring the situation of AC Milan left-back Fode Ballo-Toure this summer, alongside Championship rivals Watford.

The transfer window is well underway in the Championship and Leeds are yet to make many major moves to improve their starting lineup under Daniel Farke.

Full-back is an area of possible weakness as things stand with the club short of cover on both sides of the back four.

Leeds “monitoring” Fode Ballo-Toure from AC Milan

A report from Foot Mercato has shared an intriguing update on Leeds’ hunt for a new full-back this summer, claiming they are one of a handful of clubs monitoring AC Milan left-back Fode Ballo Toure.

The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at Fulham in the Premier League, making just eight appearances in all competitions under Marco Silva with Antonee Robinson locking down the left-back position.

It appears as though the San Siro giants have deemed the Senegal international surplus to requirements this summer, and a move to England could be pursued.

Alongside Leeds, Championship rivals Watford are said to be “closely monitoring” a move for the left-back, while Celta Vigo and Victor Orta’s Sevilla are also credited with interest.

Ballo-Toure a likely move for Leeds this summer

There are a few reasons why this probably isn’t a deal that Leeds will be pursuing at the moment, the first being that he’s not been playing well enough for the club to be considering.

Another is that AC Milan aren’t likely to let the player go on the cheap, plus his wages for one of Europe’s biggest and most historic clubs won’t be manageable for Leeds.
