Report: ‘Intelligent’ Nottingham Forest youngster wants to play as a No 10 under Nuno
New Nottingham Forest signing Giovanni Reyna has a preference about where he plays under manager Nuno.
That is according to The Athletic, which has named the position that Reyna is keen to play in for his new club Forest.

Giovanni Reyna’s preferred position at Nottingham Forest
Well, Nottingham Forest signed Giovanni Reyna in the January transfer window. The 21-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, moved to the City Ground on a loan deal from Borussia Dortmund.
Reyna, who is “technically gifted”, was struggling for playing time at Dortmund. The USA international made one start and 10 substitute appearances in the Bundesliga this season and made two substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for the German club this season.
The Athletic has reported that Reyna would like to play as a No 10 for Forest, but that is unlikely to happen in the short term because of the presence of Morgan Gibbs-White.
“Reyna has found his opportunities limited at Dortmund this season, but he is a versatile, intelligent player who will be able to slot into numerous positions,” states the report.
“The player himself is understood to be keen to play as a No 10. He is unlikely to oust Morgan Gibbs-White in the short term but will be useful cover there and can still have a big influence on the team from a slightly wider role on the right or left.”
My View: Giovanni Reyna a valuable option for Nottingham Forest
In my opinion, Giovanni Reyna is a very good option for Nottingham Forest manager Nuno for the rest of the season.
I believe that the 21-year-old, who is rated highly by Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham, will play his role in the coming weeks and months.
Forest are in a fight for survival in the Premier League this season. Reyna’s youthful vigour and creative mindset will be important for the team in the second half of the season.
