REPORT: EPL Star Is ‘Untouchable’ This Summer Despite Spurs And Chelsea Interest

Tottenham Hotspur are looking for a new striker this summer, but there is one Premier League star they may have to give up chasing, as his current club are fighting tooth and nail to keep hold of him.

Alexander Isak is off the table

Since arriving in the Premier League in 2022, Alexander Isak has proven to be one of the most accomplished finishers in the division, and is now a target for various top clubs.

However, the latest from sources at Football Insider claims Newcastle United are confident they can resist approaches from the likes of Tottenham, Chelsea, and Arsenal.

It is thought Isak is regarded as an ‘untouchable’ talent for the Magpies who they are keen to keep at all costs.

And, with Newcastle selling Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh already this summer, the club are no longer in a position where they need to offload further players to appease Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

With this in mind, Eddie Howe and his staff are of the belief that Isak will be in their squad come the end of the transfer window.

Reported bids rebuffed by Newcastle

It is not for the want of trying on behalf of Newcastle’s rivals, though. Spurs reportedly offered cash plus Richarlison for the Swedish striker but were knocked back (Gianluca Di Marzio).

Sky Sports reporter, Keith Downie, has suggested Chelsea are stepping up their interest in Isak, too. Apparently, the Blues offered Conor Gallagher, Armando Broja, and Trevoh Chalobah in exchange for the striker, but were also rebuffed (Football Insider).

Spurs Web Opinion

In an ideal world, Alexander Isak would be my top pick for Spurs to sign this summer. Sadly, I just do not see it happening. I don’t believe Newcastle would sell, and even if they did, it would be crazy money that Spurs simply would not pay.
