According to reports in Spain, a fringe Tottenham defender could be on track for a transfer back to Manchester United this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur have very much been in the “buyers market” so far in the summer transfer window. Having already confirmed the arrival of Lucas Bergvall ahead of time, Tottenham added another 18-year-old Archie Gray to their ranks this week. Therefore, the optimism is heightened in North London right now and it’s clear to see why.

After all, the Aussie boss has now had a full season to get to grips with the squad, understanding the individual strengths and weaknesses. Now, he is best placed to implement those changes he was speaking about to the media.

According to a report from AS, Manchester United could be interested in bringing Sergio Reguilon back to Old Trafford for the 2024/25 season. Also, West Ham are showing a keen interest. Reguilon spent the first half of last season on loan in Manchester, before his loan was broken and he returned to Tottenham (only to be loaned out to Brentford immediately for the last half of the season).
Well, now it turns out that Sergio Reguilon left a lasting impression at Manchester United and having watched his performances with Brentford, Erik ten Hag would like to bring Reguilon back.
Erik ten Hag recently signed a contract extension with Manchester United, so their long-term future is now a little clearer. For United, they have announced the contract extension at the right time, since it enables them to better sell a vision to their potential signings this summer.
From Tottenham’s perspective, they are unlikely to stand in the way of a Sergio Reguilon transfer. After all, the team has moved on without him at the club. Given that his contract expires in North London in the summer of 2025, selling him this summer is the best course of action since at least Spurs can recuperate some money.
