Rangers in line for five-figure windfall as Daily Record issue Monday update
Rangers could be in line for a five-figure windfall as the Daily Record have issued an update on the 17 March game against Dundee.
The game was initially scheduled to be held on Saturday, 16 March, but was moved a day later to be held on Sunday.
This is because the game will be broadcast live on television, ensuring fans can watch the action unfold mid-day.
Good news for Rangers
With the game now set to be televised, Rangers stand to benefit from a portion of the broadcast revenue generated by the agreement between Sky Sports and the SPFL.
Sky Sports’ substantial investment of £30million to broadcast 60 live games throughout the season demonstrates the value placed on Scottish football coverage.
For Gers specifically, the move means they could receive at least a five-figure windfall given the revenue share system of the SPFL, adding to their revenue stream.
Additionally, the televised match provides an opportunity for the club to showcase their talent and brand to a wider audience, potentially attracting new fans and sponsors.
It’s also been announced a month before kick-off so fans’ travel plans are unlikely to be disrupted and the date will now not change.
Hopefully, by then, Gers are the ones in the ascendancy in terms of the SPFL title race as currently, they’re playing catch up to Celtic.
