Rafael Nadal will compete against $1.2 billion LeBron James and $512 million Tom Brady in a water racing championship in Qatar

Rafael Nadal, the owner of Team Rafa in the E1 Series, is gearing up to compete against athletic legends LeBron James and Tom Brady in the E1 Doha Grand Prix. According to Forbes, Team AIUIa and Team Brady are owned by James ($1.2 billion) and Brady ($512 million), respectively.

On Monday, February 17, the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of the E1 Series shared a post with a promotional image of the E1 Doha GP, where teams owned by Rafael Nadal, LeBron James, Tom Brady, and other high-profile athletes will compete for the all-electric powerboat racing championship. The post’s caption was:

“🥁 We can now officially say it’s… RACE WEEK 🇶🇦⚡️9 teams. 18 pilots. And the biggest names in sports & entertainment as team owners… It’s time to make history and take electric racing to the Pearl Island 🫨 February 21-22. Don’t miss it 👊”

In early 2023, Rafael Nadal invested in the E1 electric boat racing league as a team owner. In 2024, NFL star Tom Brady will buy his own E1 Series club, following in the footsteps of former ATP No. 1 Rafael Nadal. LeBron James followed suit earlier this year.

Other well-known team owners include DJ and record producer Steve Aoki, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, entrepreneur Marcelo Claure, soccer legend Didier Drogba, singer-actor Marc Anthony, and actor Will Smith.
