Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Ramon Vega believes Spurs newcomer Radu Dragusin is already under huge pressure due to his agent.

HITC Football had revealed earlier that Dragusin opted to sign for Tottenham over German champions Bayern Munich.

The Romanian arrived from Genoa for a reported fee of £26 million signing a six-year contract at the North-London club.

However, his agent Florin Manea made a surprising statement revealing that the player dreams of playing for record European champions Real Madrid.

“I was looking at a picture from when we started together at Juve, I was looking at how skinny he was,” Manea told Romanian outlet Netsport.uk.

“We are only at the beginning of the road, we want them to reach the best clubs in the world. We were close, Bayern is among the biggest clubs, but his dream is Real or Barcelona.

“If he was 23-24 years old and had more experience, maybe he would have decided to go to Bayern, but I also took into account the age, and the competition, I took into account many things. In three or four years I see him at Real Madrid.”

Ramon Vega takes dig at Manea

With Manea suggesting that Tottenham could be a stepping stone for Dragusin, Vega did not react positively to his comments.

Vega believes that this will only mount pressure on the centre-back and set the bar high, which could be detrimental to the player.

“Welcome Dragon! Let’s see what you are made of,” Vega said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“As per your agent, you have been already sold to Real Madrid and Barcelona in a few years. Your agent put you under pressure and the expectations from you are very high now!”
