Premier League Top Star 22-year-old Hammer Report

Published

on

One West Ham United player has been omitted from the 25-man Premier League squad list that has been submitted by the club.

West Ham actually named only 22 players in their Premier League squad, with three spaces being left vacant.

Julen Lopetegui strengthen the West Ham squad beyond all recognition in the summer transfer window, but there’s clearly still room for improvement.

It has actually been claimed that the Spaniard is still in the market to bring in at least one more signing on a free transfer.

However, I highly doubt he will do that. I fully expect Lopetegui to attack the upcoming January transfer window with full force.

It must be said though, West Ham have got a pretty strong squad as it is. All that’s left to do now until the January window opens is get rid of the players who never were good enough to play for us, and never will be…if that’s at all possible.

West Ham name 22-man Premier League squad

All the usual suspects have been named as part of Lopetegui’s squad.

It’s clear to see that the Spaniard isn’t entirely happy with his squad, because he has left three spaces open.

And there was one notable omission from the Premier League squad.

Luizao, 22, has been left out of the Hammers squad named by Lopetegui.

West Ham rejected bids for Luizao back in the January transfer window, and we apparently did the same in the summer.

However, that doesn’t mean that Lopetegui wants to keep him – the club were just demanding too much money for him.

I have no doubts that the Brazilian will be moved on from the London Stadium as soon as possible.

Luizao will surely leave West Ham at some point

The 22-year-old joined the Hammers on a free transfer from Sao Paulo in January of 2023, but he is still yet to make a senior appearance for the club.

It’s clear that Luizao isn’t anywhere near being ready to play first-team football for West Ham – Lopetegui would have given him a chance during pre-season if he was.

I have no doubts that he’ll leave the London Stadium without having played a senior game for us.

The thing is, there aren’t that many transfer windows still open now – well not in leagues that have any kind of standing in the game.

The Turkish window slammed shut last night, so Luizao wouldn’t have that many options available to him.

Perhaps a team in the UAE (closes October 1st) or Mexico (closes today) will represent his best chance for a move.

I would be surprised if the left the club now though – he will most likely just play under-21 football for the remainder of the season.

And then in January, or next summer at the very latest, I fully expect West Ham to move on Luizao permanently.
