Porro and Richarlison Tottenham injury update before Arsenal with FPL latest

Ange Postecoglou has issued injury updates on Pedro Porro and Richarlison ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League clash against Arsenal. The Lilywhites have had nearly two weeks to stew on an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Newcastle but a win in Sunday’s North London Derby would be the perfect response.

In the 4-0 loss from a fortnight ago, Porro was withdrawn early in the second half because of a muscular issue however it was Tottenham’s other full-back ruled out in the wake of the clash with a significant injury. Earlier this week, Destiny Udogie confirmed he would miss the remainder of the season after having surgery on his quadricep with Postecoglou offering his thoughts on the injury blow.

“A disappointing one for Destiny and for ourselves as well, because he’s been a big part of our year,” he said in a press conference. “It was just an unfortunate incident in training. He’s had the operation, it’s gone well – so hopefully it gives him time to have pre-season and get back into it. So we’ll miss him.”

With Udogie joining the likes of Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon and Fraser Forster on the long-term injury list, concerns surrounding Porro and Richarlison, with the latter enduring an interrupted last month because of a knee issue, arose however the Tottenham boss was on hand to provide a positive update.

“Pedro and Richy both trained all week so they’ll both be available,” he revealed. “Skippy picked up a small knock in training so he’ll be out for this weekend.” Porro being back fit is a huge boost especially with six games still to play for Spurs, two more than most teams, and three of those against Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

As for Richarlison, Tottenham have looked disjointed in attack without him leading the line and his return could present a chance for Son Heung-min to move back out wide. The Brazil international will be hoping the minor niggles that have plagued him for the last six weeks are no longer and he can therefore play a huge role in the final few weeks of the campaign.
