Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno has given his verdict on Rodrigo Ribeiro.

Nuno has suggested that he may not use Ribeiro much for Forest in the coming weeks.

So, what has Nuno said about Nottingham Forest striker Rodrigo Ribeiro? Let’s take a look.

Nuno comments on Nottingham Forest striker Rodrigo Ribeiro

Well, Nottingham Forest signed Rodrigo Ribeiro from Sporting Lisbon in the January transfer window.

According to Forest’s official website, Ribeiro has joined the Reds on a loan deal for the rest of the season. The statement added that it “could become permanent beyond that”.

Forest have described the 18-year-old as “an exciting young forward”, noting that he has already played in the UEFA Champions League.

Forest manager Nuno has said that Ribeiro is talented, but the former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur manager has suggested that he does not expect the striker to make an immediate impact at the City Ground.

Nuno told Sky Sports about Ribeiro: “He is young but he has talent. It will take time for him to reach what we expect from him.”

My View: Rodrigo Ribeiro is one of the future

In my opinion, Nottingham Forest fans need to be patient with Rodrigo Ribeiro. He is only 18 now and is still a teenager.

Ribeiro is not the finished article, and he will not be for a few years yet. If Forest, who will face Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday, do make the deal permanent, then the City Ground faithful have to support him and persevere with him.

The teenager has already made his Premier League debut for Forest, who also signed Giovanni Reyna in the January transfer window. Before he switched to the Reds, Ribeiro had scored two goals in seven starts and three substitute appearances in Liga 3.
