Nottingham Forest struggles and obstacles for Relegation
Nottingham Forest were beaten by Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday – while some of their relegation rivals picked up valuable points.
Goals from Ollie Watkins and Douglas Luiz (x2) at Villa Park saw Nuno Espirito Santo’s side three goals down after just 39 minutes before they attempted to mount a comeback either side of the interval. Moussa Niakhate netted moments before half- time before Morgan Gibbs-White pulled another one back just a few minutes into the second period.
However, Leon Bailey restored Villa’s two-goal cushion just past the hour mark, with the hosts then holding out for the remainder of the game. While Forest’s defeat was ongoing, Crystal Palace and Everton were both leading against Burnley and Brighton, respectively.

Thankfully for Nuno, the Toffees conceded a late equaliser, which meant they remained ahead of Sean Dyche’s side by three points; however, Palace are now four points above Forest and eight points clear of the relegation zone. With that in mind, here is a look at the upcoming Premier League fixtures for Forest and their relegation-threatened rivals.
