Nottingham Forest now want to sign West Ham attacker in deadline-busting deal

Nottingham Forest are exploring a move for West Ham attacker Maxwel Cornet ahead of the transfer deadline, according to Sami Mokbel.

The Daily Mail journalist claims that the Premier League outfit are looking to sign the Ivorian on loan.

Newly-appointed manager Nuno Espirito Santo wants attacking reinforcements this month and is keen on the 27-year-old.

Via Twitter, Mokbel wrote: “Nottingham Forest exploring loan move for West Ham attacker Maxwell Cornet. Nuno Espírito Santo prioritising a new attacker ahead of transfer window.”

Doesn’t benefit the Hammers

West Ham need to do things that benefit them this month and this deal will only benefit Forest.

It’s highly unlikely that David Moyes sanctions this deal unless and until he’s got guarantees of someone arriving in that position.

While Cornet has nowhere been near good enough, he’s still an attacking option who can play as a winger, striker and a wing-back as well.

With Michail Antonio’s and Lucas Paqueta’s injury and Mohammed Kudus missing games because of international duty, bodies have been short in the final third.

A sale would see Forest paying some money which could then be invested into strengthening the first-team squad which would certainly be decent.
