Nottingham Forest 'agree' Deal with Tottenham On A Star Player

Nottingham Forest ‘agree’ Deal with Tottenham On A Star Player

The latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as the Reds looks set for a busy conclusion to the transfer window

The Reds tried to sign the 29-year-old in last summer’s transfer window but a deadline day deal failed to go through amid claims that the Blues failed to send the relevant paperwork in time, and the player signed for Fenerbahce instead.

The Belgian international went on to score 12 goals in 19 league appearances (20 in 32 in all competitions) for the Turkish top flight side but European transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano says Forest are continuing to pursue their interest in the player.

Nottingham Forest have reached an “agreement in principle” with Bologna for midfielder Nico Dominguez, it is claimed.

European transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed reports by fellow transfer expert César Luis Merlo that the 25-year-old central midfielder will be part of a swap deal with Remo Freuler going the other way to the Serie A side “if all goes to plan in negotiations” with the Reds today (Wednesday).

Dominguez has been linked with a move to the City Ground this summer, with reports earlier this month claiming that a deal for the Argentina international was ‘close’. The player made 35 appearances for the Italian club last term, scoring three goals and has featured in all of Bologna’s matches in league and cup so far this season, wearing the captain’s armband in two of the three games.

GW23 Ones to watch: Brennan Johnson

But Tottenham are leading the chase for Wales forward Johnson with the Reds ready to listen to offers around the £50m mark.

“I wouldn’t even talk about the Harry Kane situation and going in to fill that,” Page said after naming a 25-man squad for the September 7 friendly with South Korea and the crunch Euro 2024 qualifier in Latvia four days later.

“He’s his own person and player, a different type of player. I think he’s just got to go.”

Tottenham’s pursuit of Brennan Johnson appears far from straightforward amid reports they are looking at other options.

The Nottingham Forest striker has attracted interest from both Spurs and Brentford, with the Bees having a £43m bid rejected for the 22 year old Wales international. Tottenham’s interest has also been well documented but latest reports suggest Ange Postecoglou’s side are prepared to look elsewhere because they don’t want to meet Forest’s valuation.
